Associate or Full Professor
TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION in the CENTER FOR CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH at THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII
We invite applications at the associate or full professor level in the Department of Medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to transplant an extramurally funded program relating to cardiovascular disease to our new campus on the shore of Honolulu. Substantial resources have been devoted to a new initiative of the State and University of Hawaii to redevelop the biomedical research effort at our school, with a primary goal of research excellence. The Cardiovascular Center provides core facilities in mouse physiology, histology and genomics; other substantial research facilities of the University of Hawaii at Manoa will also be available. A competitive salary and start-up package will be provided, as well as an environment of extraordinary natural beauty. Both clinical and basic faculty will contribute to teaching our medical students and graduate students. Clinical faculty will care for patients at Queens Hospital and assist with the development of our cardiology fellowship. Requirements for consideration include a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, excellent publication record, and extramural funding. Clinically trained candidates should be board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine.
