What CCL Volunteers Do

We Work Together to Protect our Environment and the One-of-a-Kind World in which We Live

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) wants you!  As a volunteer of CCL, you’ll be a member of the fastest growing and most effective climate advocacy group.

Getting Started

Please join a CCL weekly Introductory Conference Call. These are held every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. It is a live call, about an hour long, and there will be opportunities to ask questions. You can register for the call here: https://citizensclimatelobby.org/join-weekly-intro-call/

To join, go to http://CitizensClimateLobby.org/, click the 'Join US' button, submit your contact information, and you will be contacted by your local chapter.  It's free to join, and you can unsubscribe any time.

Interested Observer

Here are a few things you can do that will make a disproportionately sized difference in just a few minutes a month:

  1. Spend a few minutes a month sending Congress a message that they support action to address climate change from fossil fuels:  https://citizensclimatelobby.org/write-congress-climate-action/#/27/
  2. Learn about the Carbon Fee and Dividend solution, and talk with your friends and family about it.  The CF&D laser talk is a great place to get enough information to start talking:  https://citizensclimatelobby.org/laser-talks/carbon-fee-dividend-laser-talk/
  3. Are you a member of a group or organization that would be interested in having a guest join a meeting to talk about climate solution?  You can help coordinate it, and we'll be happy to supply the speaker and hand-out materials.

Active Member

Active CCL volunteers work with other members and concerned citizens using effective, tested methods to create the political will needed to enable Congress to address greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels, the cause of climate change. Together we can protect our beautiful ecosystems, livelihoods and way of life.  CCL structures the activities we work on around various 'levers' of creating political will.

Volunteers in CCL get training and support on how to do chapter, public outreach, collect business, local leader and government endorsements, and lobby Congress

  • Write letters to the editors and op-eds.
  • Meet and work with local media.
  • Work with businesses to collect endorsements for climate legislation.
  • Educate your community about global warming and legislative solutions.
  • Help maintain a local chapter.
  • Meet with Congressional leaders.

CCL provides

  • Online training and resources.
  • Monthly national conference calls with expert guest speakers.
  • Weekly skill building sessions.
  • On-line network with CCL volunteers across the U.S.
  • National conference and lobby week in D.C.

Active volunteers work an average of 4-6 hours a month. Some of our volunteers dedicate more time than that. We put no upper limit on your dedication to a stable climate and livable world!
