“Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver-tongues pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities - yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion about well-studied public threats ranging from toxic chemicals to pharmaceuticals to climate change."

    March 18-19, 2017 - CCL's 4th Annual Nor’easter Regional Conference at UMass Amherst

February 24, 2017 - Town Hall Meeting with Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan

Lessons learned:  we had to arrive 40 minutes before the event (10 before doors opened) to get a seat in the main room.  An over-flow room was provided, and ended up being a more advantageous spot for those who ended up there because it allowed a sign to be displayed up front and noticed.  No questions about climate chnage were ansewered, but when final comments were getting started someone shouted 'clean air, clean water' from the back of the room.  In response, Senator Shaheen gave an excellent response about the need to protect our environment, and address climate change from fossil fuels.  Then went into the problems from climate change and the fact that it is one of the most critical challenges facing us now.

The crowd was very supportive of both Senators, and questions ranged around all the major issues (except climate change, campaign finance reform, tax reform, and balancing the budget).  All their answers were received with applause, several with standing ovations.

    Doors open at 9:30 AM

    NHTI, Sweeney Auditorium

    Send an email to RSVP@shaheen.senate.gov

if you plan to attend. For any questions, contact Senator Shaheen’s Manchester Office at 603-647-7500

February 21, 2017 - Climate Impacts Maple Breakfast with special guest, Senator Maggie Hassan

This was the third annual breakfast.  It is a great event. A few maple sugar farmers spoke, Senator Hassan attended and spoke, and a few other good talks as well including Saheeb from Representative Kuster's office, and a staffer from Senator Shaheen's office.  Concerned Scientists, Conservation Voters, and other groups sponsored the event and spoke.  Leaders of other groups attended as well and networking before and after was fruitful.
