The stars were certainly shining on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 on the students who received student awards, and half of those students were Phi Theta Kappa members! Congratulations to these Phi Theta Kappa Students for receiving their awards: Anthropology, Nicholas Wisniewski, Fine Arts, Elizabeth Savage, Construction Technology, Barbara Tong, Liberal Studies, Jai Lyn, Network Engineering, Dusty Rhoton, Psychology, Audra Sindelar, and the CCC2NAU award, Eli Todd.
Each of these students received a star shaped glass award for their outstanding performance.
Former Phi Theta Kappa President, Cathleen Goodell and former Vice President of Leadership, Kelly Miller, both were recognized for the Guistwhite Scholarships with certificates.
Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments!

Our former president Cathleen Goodell and VP of Leadership, Kelly Miller were mentioned in Coconotions for their awards, President Medallion, and roles in the 2012 Commencement Ceremony.
Kelly was the Mistress of the Ceremony as she led the event by introducing each action that was taken. Cathleen was the guest speaker as she congratulated the new graduates and had them stand in excitement.

They've done it again!
Our former Chapter President, Cathleen Goodell, and Former VP of Leadership, Kelly Miller have made the news.
Thanks to a CCC employee, the two ladies have an article of their own in the Community section of the Arizona Daily Sun. This article talks about their awards, the Coco-cola Community College Academic Team Scholarship and the Phi Theta Kappa Guistwhite Scholarship, and it also mentions their future plans.

The Golden Key News Briefs has just sent out a e-mail of their latest issue and our chapter was mentioned! It mentions that our chapter has recipients of the All-USA Community College Academic Team and Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Announced.
Way to go Cathleen and Kelly for getting our chapter recognized at a national level.

Our officers Cathleen Goodell and Kelly Miller have made the front page on the Coconino Community College Website. They have a small article congratulating them on their accomplishments for receiving the Cocoa-Cola Academic Team Award. This article is more detailed than the previous news blurb.
Once again they have proved the statement, that "when you put your mind to anything you can accomplish anything".
The Cocoa-Cola Award is a great honor to receive and pays a huge amount of Scholarship money to the recipients. Cathleen received the Gold Scholar award and Kelly received the Silver award.

Congratulations to our Alumni, Bonnie Depew, who was our previous Recording Officer & Vice President of Scholarships for 2010-2011. She was featured in the local paper, Arizona Daily Sun about her succesful CCC2NAU transfer program. She was also the previous All-Arizona Academic Team.
Good job Bonnie for making the headlines, you along with Dee Dee Cookston, Cathleen Goodell and Kelly Miller have inspired us all the more to do the best we can.

Blood Drive Coordinator, Twili, and CCC Staff are filling out a coupon for a free burger at Carl's Jr for donating blood.
This semester's blood drive was a huge success! With 42 Donations we beat our own record from the Spring 2011 Blood Drive of 41 donations.
Thank you for all those who voluntered to sit at the table and motivate the staff, faculty and students of CCC to donate blood and help save a life.
Remember you can always "BE a Hero" and donate at any participating Blood Drives.

On January 13th, 2012 we held a scrap booking event at the About Memories and More store. Phi Theta Kappa Officers President, Cathleen Goodell, Vice President of Leadership, Kelly Miller, Recording Officer and Treasurer, Stacie Bittner and Public Relations Secretary and Historian, Vivian Badoni started the 2011 Beta Gamma Chi Chapter Scrapbook.
The event started at 11:00 am and lasted until 3:00 pm. They glued and stamped the accomplishments together as they started the New Year with this event.
Although the scrapbook wasn't completed we are planning to do set another date to finish what we started and we hope to see new and old faces at the next Scrap booking event.
