Beta Gamma Chi Chapter

Welcome to the website for the Beta Gamma Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Academic Honor Society of Coconino Community College!  Phi Theta Kappa is the International Academic Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges, which boasts over 2 million members.  The hallmarks of a Phi Theta Kappa Chapter include Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship, and Service. These opportunities only present themselves, if a student achieves academic excellence, to earn their membership.

Our Beta Gamma Chi Chapter is the most distinguished student organization on campus and our membership consists of President Medallion Award Winners, Commencement Speakers, All-Arizona Academic Team Members, All-USA Academic Team Members, Guistewhite Award Members, Student of the Year from several departments and NAU Gold Axe Award Winners.  In addition, many academic years, our members earn thousands of dollars in scholarships.

Officer elections happen each fall or when an open officer position is available.
Why should you become an Officer you ask? As a Phi Theta Kappa Officer you'll find many opportunities for personal growth, leadership, service, and fellowship. The Beta Gamma Chi Chapter has reached record enrollment and seeks to promote leadership and scholarship opportunities for their excellent members. Each officer offers the leadership and inspiration to new and current members. Eligibility to become a member of the Beta Gamma Chi Chapter

To become a member you must meet the following criteria
  • Complete 12 transferrable credits at CCC
  • Earn a 3.5 GPA
  • Good Standing
    at CCC
  • Join during the semester you are eligible
  • Pay the one-time lifetime membership fee of $100

Once you become a member you must

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Maintain Good Standing at CCC

Opportunities once you are a member

  • Leadership at CCC
  • Scholarship at CCC
  • Service at CCC
  • Fellowship at CCC
  • Financial Scholarship at CCC and beyond
