I have played music all of my life, starting with singing, then piano, cello, guitar, fiddle, and banjo. I studied classical piano at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC from 2003 to 2006. I picked up the fiddle and banjo at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC when I was a "Host" there between October 2006 and April 2007. It was at the Folk School that I began playing music for contra dances, primarily on piano, but occasionally on banjo or cello.

Also, you should go to the Appalachian State Old-Time Fiddlers Convention in February for some great local music in Boone, NC!

News: I won second place in the folk song category at the Appalachian State Old-Time Fiddlers Convention on February 12, 2011. I sang an unaccompanied version of Down in the Willow Garden.
