  • Citizens Band radio is a general use, short distance, two-way radio primarily used by truckers. CB's are also helpful to RV drivers to call for help in an emergency and listen for driving conditions. Many CB's on the market today also have weather channels with alerting features.
  • Citizens' Band radio (often shortened to CB radio) is, in many countries, a system of short-distance radio communications between individuals on a selection of 40 channels within the 27-MHz (11 m) band. The CB radio service is distinct from FRS, GMRS, MURS, or amateur ("ham") radio.
  • Citizen’s band radio allows an easy and inexpensive way to contact other vehicles when off-roading or in a convoy. They help to keep groups together and can be used to call out for help in emergencies.

Radio Ranch
Radio Ranch
At first I thought it was a radio station, but it turned out to be a little CB sales/service shop near Bryantsville, IN. Remember how big CB was at one time? Once the domain of truckers only, it exploded. Everyone had 'em. I did. A few of them, along with a home-built linear amp (totally illegal!), a "beam antenna" in the back yard, the whole nine yards. This was back in the days of 23 channels and needing a FCC license to use one. Then, the whole fad just died away. Now, it's pretty much back to being a trucker-only thing. "Breaker 1-9 is anyone there, Come on back truckers and talk to Teddy Bear" Full circle.
