Señora Bocanegra
Hola y Bienvenidos! to a fun and exciting year of 6th, 7th and 8th grade Spanish! The following information is a list of guidelines and expectation to help create a happy and successful school year. This sheet should be kept at the beginning of your Spanish binder or folder at all times. It is expected that you come to class prepared with the following supplies. These materials should be brought with you to every class.
Supplies

Homework Policy
Homework is essential when learning a second language; therefore homework will be assigned frequently to continue what you have learned in class. Homework will be written on the board and you are expected to copy the assignment into your agenda book daily. Homework is to be completed for the following class and will be either checked or collected and reviewed. Remember, homework is extremely important so complete your homework on time!
Late Graded Assignment Policy
All graded assignments are to be handed in when DUE. Students have four days to turn in any missing homework assignments that are graded. Ten points will be deducted for each day the work is late. If the student does not make up the homework assignment by the fourth day, the zero will remain, and there will no be another opportunity to make up the homework assignment. Students must show the late homework assignment to his or her teacher the following day during that subject class period. In other words, if the homework assignment is completed but is left in homeroom, the assignment is still considered late because it is not in class. The student is not allowed to go to the teacher the same day to show her the completed homework assignment.
Quarterly Exams
At the end of each quarter, students will take a quarterly exam in each academic subject. These examinations allow for smaller increments of materials for testing and provide for a better understanding of the materials presented. Quarterly Exams may be in the form of written tests, projects or presentations. Each quarterly exam counts as 5% towards the student's yearly average. Collectively, the four quarterly exams equals 20% of the year-end final average in each subject. Please be advised that middle school teachers do not offer study guides for quarterly exams. Retakes on quarterly exams are strictly prohibited.
Grading Policy
All student efforts shall be weighted as a percentage of his/her quarterly grade. The grading distribution for the course is as follows: homework, quizzes, test, and
class work.
(Grading percentages may be subject to change depending on the projects and assignments given in each marking period.)
Absences
All missed class work and assignments due to illness are to be made up within a time frame specified by the teacher. Upon return to school, the student is required to make up test and missed assignments. The student is expected to show initiative in seeking out each teacher to determine missed assignments and due dates.
