We do research in the fields of systems biology and synthetic biology. Particularly, we are interested in elucidation of complex regulatory networks in biological systems and redesigning biological systems i) for the production of chemicals, fuels, pharmaceuticals, and therapeutics, ii) for environmental bio-remediation, and iii) for healthcare applications using tools driven by synthetic and systems biology approaches. We are located at School of Chemical and Biological Engineering in Seoul National University, Korea.

Prof. Seo performed postdoctoral research at UCSD by applying systems biology approaches for genome-scale understanding of biological systems. As a graduate student at POSTECH, he learned how to develop novel synthetic biology tools and to construct and optimize biological systems. Combining systems biology and synthetic biology approaches, he envisions his career to address various energy, environment, and healthcare issues. Learn more
