Sat. Oct. 10, 2020      9:00am – 1:00pm

Fruit pies, cookies, turkey pot pies, jams, jellies, pickles, etc.

For the time being, in-person worship services will be outside and moving inside as the seasons progress.

You may want to bring a cushion for the metal chair, you may want to being your own chair, you may want to stay in your car, you may want to wear a hat or carry a parasol!

We know that some folks will choose not to come to church knowing it will be outside - more chose not to come inside, for various reasons, and we respect your choice. The “written out” services from March-May are still on our website and you can print one of those out if you like.

Mask wearing will be required.

As we have been repeatedly told, masks and hand washing and not touching our faces are the three best things we can do to protect ourselves from the virus, and to protect others.  Out of respect and love for all of our members, especially as many of us are in high-risk categories, masks will be worn – you may wear your own or wear one that will be provided.  I feel strongly about this, and if we are unable to all cooperate with this requirement, then I may need to cancel the service.

Social Distancing will be required.

Just like the first weeks, our natural tendency will be to rush to each other and hug and talk. We are still requiring us all to practice social distancing, and Deacons will be serving as ushers to help us find seating that will provide the correct distance. Again, we have provided the list of rules we have decided upon to help us all stay safe (see back).

If you have any concerns about the worship service this Sunday, or any general concerns I can help with, please contact me at the number above.

Community Baptist Church of Whitefield Rules for Covid-19

As leaders of the church, the Deacons and I seek to provide clear rules for our interactions during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic. We recognize that our congregation has many members and attendees who fall into particularly high risk categories, and so we trust you will cooperate in following these rules so that we can all be as safe as possible during our worship together.

Because of the nature of this virus, and the low incidence of infection in outdoor settings, we will be trying to have as many services outside as possible over the warmer months. Here are some items you might consider bringing to make outside meetings more pleasant: an umbrella or hat for the sun, sunblock, bug spray, a cushion for the metal chair, bringing your own chair, possibly staying in your car. We will meet inside if the weather is inclement.

Regardless of WHERE we have our worship services, here are rules that apply at all times.

·         If you are feeling sick, have some of the symptoms of Covid-19 infection, or have been exposed to someone who has the virus, please stay at home. Call the Pastor to let him know.

·         We will practice social distancing (6 feet) at all times. Waving and yelling are fine.

·         Face masks will be available and required.

·         Hand sanitizer will be provided, please use it liberally.

·         Chairs will be placed and pews marked for sitting in order to keep the appropriate distance, not just for breathing, but also for singing. Singing is optional.

·         Deacons will assist with seating—seating front to back and dismissing back to front.

·         Parking will be directed if we are meeting outside.

·         If you want to stay in your car for an outside service please arrive early.

·         We will be limiting exposure to worship items—Bibles, Hymnals, cushions, bulletins, literature have been removed.

·         Offerings will be put in the plates/box as you arrive or leave.

·         Prayer requests will be either written on request slips for the pastor or emailed to church.

·         Communion items will be “self-contained” and distributed before arrival.

·         “If you touch it, please take it” (e.g. pens, worship materials).

·         Entrance and exit will only be from the street entrance of the church unless an elevator is required, or you are the organist.

·         If service is outside, please maintain the distance between the chairs. If you are a couple or family group, please gather your chairs together in a way to maintain a 6’ perimeter around your group.

·         If you have difficulty hearing, or have some other need during the service (such as feeling faint or sick), please raise your hand and a Deacon will come to you to help.

·         You are encouraged to wash your hands before coming to church and after arriving home.

·         If you need to use the restroom, please use the sanitation wipes to wipe all areas that were touched. Please dispose of the wipes in the trash can in the restroom.

·         Coffee Hour is cancelled for the time being.

If you choose to stay at home a while longer, the "analog" (paper) worship service pages that we used while not holding services are still on the website and you may "recycle" one of them to guide you in your worship
