Joanne and I were in a rush almost the whole day as I started the day behind. But, we eventually got settled as she went to Rain Salon and Spa to get my hair cut and I went around West Edmonton Mall amusing myself. I can't lie, her new hair looks great and I think her new direction of style should be both chic, edgy, and interesting to see how it evolves. That being said, I watched as she got compliment after compliment about her lusciously scarlet red lips. I've always encouraged her to experiment and play with bold colours, and I really think she's seeing the payoff herself. Afterwards we visited Holt Renfrew to see what was new since we were early for our dinner reservations at 100 (that's the name of the restaurant). I was quite taken with the latest Radiant Serum from the La Mer skincare line, and Joanne got a few things from Yves Saint Laurent. With 5:30 approaching, we went to dinner at 100 which i can only describe as the perfect place for appetizers and drinks, but not dinner. However, I wanted to revisit it and see the new menu. You see, Joanne and I came here years ago when we first started dating. To that end, i thought this photo was particularly amusing since portrays an alternate but plausible way that we could have met. In a lot of ways, two nice and clean Asian people meeting in a bar is nowhere near ordinary, but that's how it happened! So for all intents and purposes, this photo represents the feel or atmosphere of how we first met. The rest of the night was a simple affair as we retired back home to play Little Things on the iPad and snuggle and chat. I don't care if it's lame or whatever, quality time important to me and Joanne. P.S. Here's a tip for people parking Downtown! If you find yourself having to get the night maximum parking but leave hours later, give your ticket to someone else! They can still use it, and you save them the parking fees!

Pshop instructions on a PC 1. cleanup the image and adjust levels or curves as necessary. You want to start with an image that isn't too dark because you need the light areas for step 2. 2. select the luminosity values (alt+ctrl+~) -- luminosity values are the highlights 3. create a new alpha channel in the channel menu and fill the selection with white (if you have white as your background color you can just ctrl+backspace, then invert the selection and fill with black (alt+backspace), invert again and fill with white 3 or 4 times depending on how light your image was to start with. Deselect (ctrl+d). I have to play with this a few times to get an outline that looks good, and of course a bit of work in step 4... 4. clean up the outline and remove unwanted areas by painting in the alpha channel with a white brush 5. the edges in this image aren't really black, they are a dark burgandy color. To recolor the black I first inverted the alpha channel (ctrl+i) so I'd be selecting the blacks and grays and not white then ctrl click on the alpha channel in the channel palette to load that channel as the selection. Then click on the RGB channel to activate it and switch to the layers palette. Create a new layer above the background and use the color picker to choose a color to replace your blacks. You can leave it black if you want, I just thought the burgandy was softer. Now that the color is your foreground you can alt+backspace to fill the selection with that color. Now make a new layer between your background and layer 1 and fill it with white (ctrl+backspace). 6. Making the eye brown again: add another layer above layer 1 and change the blending mode to Color. Then pick a nice warm brown and paint in the eye. Lower the opacity of the layer to make it blend nicely. 7. Flatten layers. 8. overall softness, was done by masking out the eye and doing a light gausian blur
