Amanda "Amy" Causey

The 2015-2016 school year will be a new adventure for me as an Engaged Learning Coach with Huntsville Independent School District. I have spent the past seven years in the Conroe Independent School District. I am married to a wonderful man who has served in the army for 11 years now. We have been through three deployments together and we have a son, Taven who is five, and a daughter, Adalyn who is one.

I have a passion for education and am actively engaged in the instructional technology community throughout the state of Texas. I am always on the hunt for more ways to better engage our students and speak to their needs. I think it is important as a teacher to always remember that our students are learning skills for jobs that do not even exist yet. Therefore, we need be adapting to our ever changing world and be diligent in our efforts to instill that drive and passion in our students to continue learning.

As an engaged learning coach I hope to make an impact in the lives of teachers and students. I feel very strongly about students not only being taught the material but how the brain absorbs that material and what is happening in their brain when they struggle with it. We need to be allowing our students to take ownership of their learning environment. Discovery, curiosity, and freedom of choice should be fostered in our educational culture. I hope I can learn from you and contribute to your learning through this journey.
