Emerald Falls (23 March 2008), Channel Ten.
Catherine plays: Rosalie Bailey.
Emerald Falls is a telemovie which was filmed in Sydney and the Blue Mountains in May 2007, and aired on Channel Ten in March 2008. It was originally called 'The Falls' (after the fictional town in which it is set), but the name was changed later on in 2007, a few months before it aired on television.
Rosalie Bailey is the town's local church minister. She is good friends with the protagonist, Joni Ferguson (Georgie Parker), who comes to the church one day to tell Rosalie that Dr Henry Forbes (Andrew McFarlane) has died. Rosalie is shocked and saddened to hear this news, as she was in a relationship with Dr Forbes. In contrast, Joni is quite shocked to learn that Rosalie was in a relationship with the doctor! How and, more importantly why, Dr Forbes died becomes the main plot and focus of the telemovie, as Joni's 15-year-old son Zac (Tom Green) conducts his own investigation into the doctor's premature death. His excellent forensic skills and knowledge makes the local police look amateur at times!
Catherine only has about seven or so scenes in Emerald Falls, meaning that you don't really get to know her character all that well, and it is hard to judge her acting also. In saying that, Rosalie does seem like a pretty genuine and down-to-earth kind of person, and she also has a pretty good sense of humour. At the time there was a bit of a push to turn Emerald Falls into an actual series, however, it never went ahead for various reasons - one of which was that Catherine had been cast in police drama Rush.
Some trivia of note: Catherine started filming this only a couple of weeks after her son was born!
