Antony and Cleopatra

In 2018, Catherine played Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare, for Bell Shakespeare in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. Directed by Peter Evans, it also stars Johnny Carr as Antony, Ray Chong Nee, Zindzi Okenyo and Steve Rodgers.

The play tells the story of the power and love of Antony, a Roman General, and Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. In their passionate and strong love for one another, they both, to varying degrees, begin to neglect their duties for their respective countries and a lot of politics ensues. And as with a number of Shakespeare plays, it doesn't end well!
