Become a Cathedral Village Arts Festival Volunteer

Volunteers are the magic and the lifeblood of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. This spring festival inspires people to volunteer and reacquaint with the larger community. Many of our volunteers come back year after year. As a CVAF volunteer you will work with many great people and get a Festival Volunteer T-Shirt you can wear proudly.

There are five key areas where volunteers are needed: at public events, the picnic, the street fair, parades and with our invaluable tech team.

Street Fair

The busiest day of the festival. Street marshalls, you will be wearing a festival t-shirt this year making you instantly recognizable. Your job is to answer questions, report emergencies and be on hand to help with whatever surprises may arise. At the information booth we need volunteers who enjoy answering questions and dealing with people. Ticket sellers wander around selling 50/50 tickets.


Festival week celebrates the arts joyously in every imaginable way. The CVAF needs people to serve as hosts for these events. MC's must be comfortable speaking in public and follow a script. Greeters welcome patrons, keep a head count and hand out information.

Parade Marshall

The annual parade to kick off the picnic is outstanding for the efforts and hard work of the many participants. Parade marshalls are needed to help organize, maintain order and keep time.


A true community 'block party ' the picnic brings families to Les Sherman Park regardless of the weather. We need cooks, servers, kitchen runners, set up and clean up crews, ticket sellers, someone to run the popcorn machine and more.

Tech Team

This is the crew that looks after all the audio and electrical requirements of the festival. The also do the set up and take down of tables for the street fair. The performance tent in Holy Rosary Park is set up by this team. We need people who enjoy this type of work and camaraderie. If you have a truck, basic tools and electrical/audio knowledge even better. Let us know.
