Numark iDJ iPod 2 Channel Mixer
BRING THE TUNES YOU LOVE FROM YOUR HEADPHONES TO THE DANCEFLOOR. The iDJ is a 2–channel mixer that enables mobile DJs and iPod enthusiasts to seamlessly integrate their portable music libraries with other music, video and sound reinforcement systems—transforming the iPod from a personal music player into a source playback device. The iDJ's compact form factor, comprehensive feature set, and onboard controls allow you to manipulate content on the iPod while never leaving the mixer control surface (3rd generation iPods and later only). Its backlit blue–on–white design blends perfectly with the iPod. The iDJ makes the music more accessible and the party better than ever.

Perform and mix all the music in your iPod libraries with the Numark iDJ two-channel mixer, which offers two Universal Docks for the Apple iPod. You can dock and mix tracks from two different iPod, CD players or turntables connected to iDJ's inputs, or a combination of those sources. You can also mix in a mic and sing, rap, or talk over the music with iDJ's mic channel.
Your hands never have to leave iDJ thanks to large transport controls. You'll be able to connect to the PA or speaker system with ease using iDJ's multiple RCA outputs and cue in headphone with the 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch headphone jacks. iDJ's mixer has three-band EQ and a gain control on each channel as well as microphone tone and level controls so you can optimize each channel's sound for your room and performance. When you play clubs, you can even place iDJ on a turntable with the spindle receiver in the bottom.
iDJ has dual plug-and-play USB interfaces for connecting to Mac and PC. You can then use iDJ as a high-tech dock for your iPod--as simple as plugging in with no drivers needed to make the connection work.

Hi Fi Repair
Hi Fi Repair
I still carry out the occasional repair if I think I stand a fair chance of success. The CD mechanism on this Hi Fi was failing to read the discs TOC , there was no focusing activation of the pick up coil and the deck motors were intermittent which played havoc with the CDs logic control . This is normally caused by a lazy or low output laser. The Sony KSS 240A in this unit was 14 years old and didn't respond to a wash and brush up . This once cheap pick up is no longer made and the genuine Sony ones that are still available are very expensive. From past experience the cheap pattern ones are very hit and miss for longevity. When I pressed the PCB the fault could be made to come and go at will , a sure sign of a poor connection. A number of ringed and dry soldered joints on the main PCB caused the problem , one diode nearly fell out of the board. My old double beam scope packed up some time ago and I don't normally tweak the RF eye waveform or servo offsets because adjustment is always hit and miss without one , but a slight increase of the focus gain was needed to get the CD pick up to read my Pioneer test disc properly. Ken Clements gave me many useful tips about servicing CD players when I attended one of his excellent courses at Pioneer over twenty years ago. He later wrote a comprehensive book on repairing CDs and other laser based equipment which became a best seller in the 1990s. Update March 2011 - It's still working perfectly.
I went inside, and as I suspected, I was there a little early -- but since Craig was the DJ, he had to be there earlier than anybody! To my surprise, I actually saw Tyrone outside while I was waiting in line. I heard someone say his name and I turned around; he saw me and said, "Heeey!" and gave me a hug. Then I went to the ticket window and the guy told me mine was the single will-call ticket they had. Yeah, well, I guess I've always liked to be different. I checked my coat, which I'd hoped not to have to do because I'm cheap these days, but the weather outside while walking there was just too chilly. One of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence took my jacket and complimented me on my "FRUITCAKE" T-shirt. Then I walked back down to the dance floor, where most of the few people already there were kind of just milling around, and about two people were actually dancing off by themselves. I walked over to Craig with his DJ equipment, he saw me, gave me a hug, and then I took this picture. That was about the extent of my direct interaction with him the entire evening.

1/4-inch adapter included; serrated area on the plug acts as a "hanger" when plugged into a rack of equipment.
Studio Quality
The MDR-V700DJs incorporate high-end materials and advanced engineering to provide a clean, detailed sound for professional applications.
Reversible Swivel Earcups
For DJ and remix applications, these headphones enable single-sided monitoring. DJs can listen to house sound with one ear while they cue up the next track with the other. Also convenient for on-shoulder use.
Auto Swivel Return
This mechanism brings the earcups back to standard listening position, another handy touch from Sony.
Power and Fidelity
The MDR-V700DJs boast 3000 mW power handling, for the most brutal of professional applications. These cans will stand up to day-in, day-out use, at serious output levels.
For maximum energy and minimum size Sony chose Neodymium magnets. These pack more magnetic energy per ounce than conventional Ferrite, Samarium Cobalt, or Aluminum magnets, and help produce ample sound output--107 dB/mW sensitivity.
Last but not least, 50 mm diameter drive units dish out reference-grade sound, superior power handling without the distortion, and way deeper bass, extending all the way down to a ridiculous 5 Hz.
Comfortable, Supra-Aural (On-Ear) Design
The MDR-V700DJs rest lightly on the ear, and the driver is positioned the correct distance from the ear canal, for a controlled environment and better sound.
A wide, molded headband evenly distributes the headphone's weight, for comfortable listening hours on end.
Precious Metals
Gold-plated plugs resist corrosion for high conductivity and low noise. Ditto on the oxygen-free copper cord, which also conducts electricity better than conventional copper.
Convenient Design
A folding design makes for easy storage and easy portability in a briefcase or equipment bag. As an added bonus, a serrated area on the plug acts as a "hanger," providing a spot to hang the phones when plugged into a rack of equipment.
