Dr. Samsell, the daughter of a Botanist and a Wildlife Biologist, grew up in West Virginia in a home full of animals,both wild and domestic.
After her undergradute studies at University of West Virginia, she lived in Columbus Ohio for 4 years while attending veterinary school. She was one of 7 women in her class of 85 students at Ohio State University.
After graduation, Dr. Samsell moved to North Carolina to take a position at Duke University and later owned a mixed animal practice in the Hillsborough/Chapel Hill area.She moved to Oregon in 1982 and became director of the City of Eugene Spay and Neuter Clinic.
In 1998 she opened CatCare Ltd., devoted to the care and well-being of our feline companions.
She shares her home in the country with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 box turtles and a flock of wild turkeys.. She enjoys bird wotching and gardening and paddling her canoe in local lakes and rivers.
