Annual General Meeting

Many thanks to everyone who came to yesterday's AGM. We've decided to accept the Barcelona municipal authorities' offer of a twice-weekly use of rooms at a former children's library. Our plan is to offer phonics/literacy classes in a glassed-in classroom and parallel activities in the building's three other, open-plan spaces. Classes would be open to association members. Ideally, parents would pay any fees for the literacy classes directly to the teacher involved. (Parallel activities could be organised on a volunteer basis to save money, or the other spaces could be used as an open-house, playgroup setting.) Ideally, we'd get started in September 2012.

If we use the classrooms from 6 pm to 8 pm on Fridays and 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, the classes could look something like this:

5-6 year-olds (Fridays, 6-7 pm)
7-8 year-olds (Saturdays, 10-11 am)
9-10 year-olds (Fridays, 7-8 pm)
11-12 year-olds (Saturdays, 11 am-12 noon)

Any and all feedback welcome!
