Castilleja Bridge Building 2009

    All students taking Science classes in the 2nd semester engage in an interdisciplinary, multi-grade, open-ended challenge.  In the process, students use their creativity, life experiences, and inquiry skills to construct a structure to meet the challenge.  Groups are arranged with representatives from different grade levels and all contribute to the whole process: planning, design and construction.

In this processes, the whole community will come together to promote problem solving and experimental, experiential learning.  The planning and construction stage will take 2 class consecutive class periods.  The bridges will be on display the following week before the load capacity testing week.
