Garlic bread does not get any easier than this. If you have a tight schedule and pressed for time, don't go and buy that pre-packaged garlic bread, do this:

Take some homemade baguette and cut into slices (kind of thin, like 1/4 inch thickness). Brush each slice with a little bit of olive oil (one side is only needed). Layer slices on a baking sheet, bake at 400F for 5 minutes or so. Remove from oven when nice and golden. Cut a large garlic clove in half. Rub the cut end of the garlic onto the hot bread slice. Use the other half as well. Presto!

 For Garlic Bread Croutons:

Cut or tear the bread slices into small, bite-sized pieces. Add to any salad, especially homemade caesar salad!

If you want to jazz up the croutons a little, when brushing each baguette slice with olive oil, add a few pinches of dried herbs like basil, oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Now you have even more flavourful croutons.
