I am currently in my second year of studies at USF and absolutely loving every minute of it! I came to Tampa the Fall of 2011 after graduating as a Principal Scholar, among other awards, from Bloomington North High School in Bloomington, Indiana. Along with the warm weather and sunshine, I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the big city of Tampa and absorbing all the new experiences college has to offer.
I am studying in the pre-architecture track with hopes to enter into USF's graduate-level architecture program. Even as a young fourth grader, I was drawing floor plans in a notebook during long car trips rather than playing the handheld video games, and I am ecstatic to be getting closer and closer to my dream career. Being a member of the Honors College, I feel, plays a huge part in helping all of us accomplish our goals - honors classes are small in size and foster very stimulating discussions. We are fortunate to be challenged in a way most other students will never experience.
Of course, school isn't all I do... I have been a travel member of the club tennis team at USF for the past two seasons and had great experiences getting to know my teammates as well as players from other schools. We travel to tournaments around the state of Florida, playing in a league that is entirely student-run and student-government funded. For the past two years I have also taken advantage of my new home by volunteering at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I committed to a four hour shift every week, helping the animal trainers and accommodating aquarium guests. Volunteering in the Marine Mammal Department at CMA is a coveted position, and I feel blessed for being given the opportunity to work in such an amazing environment.
I am truly proud to be a USF Bull and a member of the Honors family. We can do amazing things!
GO BULLS!
