About the Coalition

The Cascade Prevention Coalition (CPC) was formed in the fall of 2011; it includes participation from schools, business, media, law enforcement, public health, youth-serving organizations, mental health providers, treatment providers, civic organizations, city and county government, youth, parents, and volunteers from our community.

 Community Support Programs

Parenting the Love and Logic Way:           The Love and Logic approach to parenting is built around the science of crafting caring and respectful relationships.  An authentic, loving connection between parents and their children is the root of a healthy, thriving relationship built on trust and understanding.

Start Talking Now:                                              Is a parent education campaign that encourages parents to speak with their children and teens about the risks of underage drinking and youth marijuana use and provide educational resources for families and communities.

Mentoring:                                                    Mentoring is an evidence-based community prevention program in which youth are provided support and resources through a connection with a trusted adult. Mentoring is proven to support school connectedness, social competence, bonding, and belief in a hopeful future for youth. This program is provided by Youth Services of Kittitas County.
