POSSIBLE REUNION COMMITTEES




FOOD COMMITTEE DUTIES:
  • The Food committee makes the important food-related decisions. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • How to feed the guests, whether everyone brings their own food, have a potluck, eat at a restaurant, or all of the above. 
  • The food committee is also responsible for making sure there are enough plates, silverware, napkins, and drinking straws, including the task of informing family members to bring their own.

ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE DUTIES: 

  • The Activities committee decides what everyone else is supposed to do at the reunion.  This includes activities, games, a program or a church service.
  • Plans activities, making sure all game / activty equipment is there and that it is in a functional state.
  • Printing the certificates and awards.
  • They are also in charge of finding volunteers to run the games and activities.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE DUTIES: 

  • This committee is responsible for managing the address list and mailing all the various invitations and follow-up reminders.
  • Makes website updates.

FAMILY HISTORY COMMITTEE DUTIES: 

  • Collects memorabilia for display at the reunion.
  • Possibly create a large wall chart with family members’ names to hang on the wall for guests to see how they are related to each other.

 WELCOMING COMMITTEE DUTIES:

  • The Welcoming committee is responsible for welcoming the guests to the reunion
  • print all those nametags  
  • meet the guests at the front door 
PHOTOGRAPHY COMMITTEE DUTIES:
  • The Photography committee is responsible for making sure the reunion is documented photographically.  
  • They should make sure there is a photographer attending, whether it is a family member who is talented with a camera or a professional. 
  • Once the photos are developed, the committee is responsible for noting which family members are in each picture.  
  • If a video is to be made, this committee also has the responsibility for lining up a camcorder or hiring someone to create the video tape.   
  • After the reunion, the photography committee should upload photos or video to the internet, and advise family members of their availability. 

 ACCOMODATIONS COMMITTEE DUTIES:

  • The Accommodations committee is responsible for finding accommodations for visiting guests, such as hotels, motels, nearby Dumpsters, et cetera.  
  • Negotiate for blocks of rooms or discounts to pass on to the family members  
  • Tell the family members how to make their own reservations.

SETUP AND CLEANUP COMMITTEE DUTIES:

  • Setup and Cleanup committee is in charge of  obtaining and setting up chairs, tables, barbecue grills, picnic tables  and other items for the reunion, hanging up decorations, and of course, restoring the facility to a clean and orderly state.
