So what I did was first soak the clean fabric in just the rubbing alcohol you saw before. After squeezing out the excess liquid I mixed in the dye and 1 pot of hot (but not boiling, so the spandex wont melt) water to help the dye dissolve and to help it attach itself to the polyester fabric. I soaked them for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours, going out every so often to stir them around and shift them to make sure they dye evenly. To keep them under the water I wraped some of my weights in plastic bags (didn't help, now my weights are green-ish lol), that's what those white bulges are. Oh, and I would HIGHLY recommend wearing gloves, a mouth/nose cover of some sort, and some sort of eye wear. I didn't have too much problems, but the alcohol can burn your eyes.

The good was the prices, the bad was the condition of both pieces which is not good at all. Both still have their original teak handle inserts. The ugly is the inside bottom of the skillet (which I will not horrify you with). It looks like somebody took a hammer and chisel to it. I'll finish the job by knocking in a couple of drainage holes then planting a cactus garden. The saucepan is in somewhat better condition but is probably not food safe despite appearances. It was pretty badly burnt up and required three doses of Dawn PowerDissolver, plus an overnight with a bit of bleachwater before it really cleaned up nicely. I'll cogitate a while before I decide how to retask the saucepan. Skillet: $2 Saucepan: $3 Elbow grease: priceless
