Today we went to a public library. Once I sat down, I noticed that surface of the table is really 'sticky'. I sniffed once. Not much smell of anything - slight hint of body lotion kind of something. I decided to ignore and pull my laptop out - but after few typings and moving notes and memos around - It's just so sticky and mucky. So I decided wipe a bit. Pull a piece of paper napkin out of my bag and dropped a bit of water on it - and then started wiping. I just wiped probably something like 6 inches square. And result was 'GROSS'. It was one of the thickest 'muck' accumulated - worse than fast food places. Culture of wiping issue requires bit more materials. +That cartoon from NYT. Well. It's a BIG conceptual turn. Wiping real - is different from mucking up with cleaning chemicals and waxing up coats. These 2 - I don't know really can coexist or not. [There might have been much older times - some artisans or craftsman were able to have these 2 different approaches coordinated in one's head and body, but it seems, today, we aren't that tactful anymore - this is one very interesting subject. How people coordinated between - something they really shouldn't tamper much, - something they really need to tamper and mess with, Or like those Virginia Hams - people knew how to let the nature do the work etc... And how we lost it. + Issue of British housewives polishing everything in their house. It was a read - criticism on Orwell - that the neighborhood in London? - he depicted as low and messy and dirty and poor - etc were actually inhabited by very clean, neat, attending housewives - and their culture was meticulous ( and I read same thing about some baking and cooking culture thing in Wales and so on - until 60s or 70s: We can photo it and quote it here. How meticulously they did the baking. And that's something seems never came into USA or just something gotten lost. Today's USA's baking culture is pretty much rubber stamp, all same regardless of class or regions...)

Computer Kitchen6
After cleaning the computer in the kitchen (wiping the screen, keys, and body), I tried to get a shot of it before it got dirty again. This is my HP DV8000, XP(media center edition). My first dual core machine. I can't get over how fast this thing is. I've owned this computer for a year now, and it gets used very heavily every day. I use it to download a lot of HD video (TV shows, Movies), music for my iPod Nano, and picture and video editing. The centrino core duo processor handles everything I throw at it with ease. I'm also running a dual monitor set up off of the GForce go 7600 graphics card (2 x (1440x900)).
