Varied carpet beetle ~ 'Anthrenus verbasci' These Carpet beetles were about 3mm across, they kept collecting pollen and going behind the petals then returning to the stamens, after looking to see what was going on i found some nynphs that looked like greenfly, i assume there was some connection but no idea if they were farming or feeding. Any id's would be helpful. Under the naked eye they were two dots on a flower, so much beauty in such a tiny insect. The varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci) is a 3 mm–long beetle that is classed as a serious household pest. It will feed on natural fibers and can damage carpets, furniture and even your clothing....i wont be bringing those indoors for a closeup shoot!!! Thank you all for your comments. Cut a second piece of string 24 inches and wrap this piece twice around the head from the chin to the top. Pull tightly and tie off at the top of the head. At the neck this head string should touch the neck string. With a needle and strong thread (carpet or buttonhole), tack the points where the strings intersect (at the ear locations) to the stockinette. Take several stitches and make sure they are secure.
