  • Chemically called sodium bicarbonate. It is white powder used to raise the total alkalinity of pool or spa water without having much affect on pH.
  • bicarbonate of soda: a white soluble compound (NaHCO3) used in effervescent drinks and in baking powders and as an antacid
  • Sodium bicarbonate used in cooking, for cleaning, or in toothpaste
  • Sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate).

  • A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.

baking soda
baking soda
tooth paste, shampoo, cleaner of all things Dissolve about 1 tablespoon of baking soda in just enough water in the cup of your hand to make a paste. Apply this to your roots only; work it in and let it sit for a minute. Then rinse. It’s that easy. A lot of people who do this also use a very watered down apple cider vinegar rinse. Why would I want to do this? It’s not because we don’t shop and can’t buy shampoo. It might have started that way but the more I found out about how harmful that crap is that we put on our skin, I wanted to find a safe alternative. You see, our skin absorbs what ever we put on it, so if you cant drink your shampoo, you shouldn’t be using it because you are ingesting it. Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) are detergents and surfactants that may pose serious health threats. They are used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers — and in 90 % of personal care products that foam: i.e. your shampoo. Animals exposed to SLS experienced eye damage, depression, labored breathing, diarrhea, severe skin irritation and even death. There is a time frame where you hair will have to adjust to this treatment of not being striped by harsh detergents each day. It will get oily (this lasts for a couple of weeks to a month) as it regenerates its natural production of oils. Those oils protect our scalps, prevent dandruff, clean our hair naturally. That right, if you brush your hair with a natural bristled brush each night, you distribute the oils and clean your hair! Using too much vinegar will make your oil cells react and make even more oil. You can also use lemon juice diluted as a rinse. I like to use honey especially my rose petal infused honey. After my baking soda rub, I put honey all over my face and into my hair, it’s pretty watered down because of wet hands and steam in the bath. I let it stay on for a minute or two and relax and take in the wonderful smells. Then rinse. My hair is baby soft, its not oily at all, no one would guess that I don’t shampoo my hair.
Idea for Baking Soda and Vinegar Motor
Idea for Baking Soda and Vinegar Motor
I think this might be my best idea yet as to how to build a baking soda and vinegar motor. I've had other ideas along these lines in the past, but they all involved reacting large amounts of baking soda and vinegar all at once to generate high pressures of 80+ PSI. This idea is difrerent in that it slowly reacts the vinegar and baking soda over time to generate low pressures rather than high pressures all at once. The advantage being it should allow the motor to run for an extended period of time, rather that a brief impulse like a high pressure system. This system involves feeding vinegar one drop at a time under gravity into a sealed container of baking soda. A check valve is used to prevent the carbon dioxide generated from escaping into the vinegar holding tank. The line connecting the reactor assembly to the turbine is sloped so that waste liquid can drain, preventing a build up of liquid from "choking" the reactor. Both liquid and gasious waste leave the system via the drain and exhaust line. The solid waste and some of the liquid is removed via the bottom loading port after the motor has finished its cycle. PS. I just had another idea! If the reaction could be very precisely controled and the output of the drive shaft was connected to a gearing assembly of the proper design, it might be possible to make a baking soda and vinegar clock!
