Carolina Tripp Barba was born in Mazatlan Sinaloa (Mexico). She received her degree from the Faculty of Informatics of the Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa (Mexico) in 2006.

Received her MSc and PhD degrees in telecommunication engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2009 and 2013 respectively. 

Her research activity is focused on VANETs (Vehicular Ad hoc Networks) and WSN (Wireless Sensor Networks).

Carolina was the recipient of a FI-AGAUR fellowship by the Comissionat per a Universitats i Recerca del DIUE from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Social European Budget and is part of the "Programa Doctores Jóvenes en Áreas Estrategicas" from the University of Sinaloa, Mexico.

Currently is a full-time research professor at Facultad de Informática MazatlánUniversidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS), Mexico. Member of the research group "Señales y Sistemas".
