The foundation for a strong and healthy community starts with a strong and healthy childhood that supports children for future success as independent, stable and productive adults. The 100 new Early Learning and Child Care Centres across the province will receive funding to better support Alberta’s families with $25-a-day quality child care.

We are happy to expand our services as one of 100 new ELCC programs and bring families in Caroline and Surrounding Clearwater County an affordable, flexible, and quality rural child care option to suit their needs.

What does this mean for you?

Our programs have always been about learning through play. As a parent with a child already enrolled in our Playschool program, nothing will change until September 2018 when you will benefit from all the great changes listed above. We plan to improve upon our long-running Playschool early learning program by offering more schedule options than just 2 ½ hr./day twice a week and Accredited Out of School Care for school aged children.

We will be following the new advanced early learning and child care curriculum framework for Alberta called * “Play, Participation and Possibilities”. All ELCC Centres are required to use this framework which was specially developed for Albertans by Albertans to boost young children’s early childhood development outcomes and help caregivers support families to give children the best possible start in life.

Affordable means paying no more than $25 a day per child if you choose to enrol your child for additional hours of early learning and child care. There is no change to the child care subsidy program. Eligible parents will receive either full or partial subsidy dependent on their circumstances, including those in an Early Learning and Child Care centre. No parent, including those eligible for child care subsidy, will pay more than $25 per day per child. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at carolineplayschool@gmail.com .

Thank You ...

To all our program families in Playschool, HUB Kids OOSC, Childminding and Playtimes. Your input guided our ELCC Grant Application and will continue to guide our program design. Our CPS Executive Board, Staff Members and  Caroline HUB Complex Team have driven the careful considerations taken in planning for another program expansion. This opportunity will directly benefit them with better wages, local full time work opportunities, program supports and career development.
