I just spent 3 days in Lisbon, Portugal, and the first thing that I have to say about it is that I could have spent a month in Portugal exploring everything there was to see…unfortunately I only had 3 and a half days. Lisbon is a very chill city with a hippy feel to it. The first day I was walking along going to find lunch and I ran into a group of English guys also looking for lunch. We ended up hanging out for a few hours down by the pier and met even more friendly people. I have never felt more welcomed and loved by perfect strangers before. One of the coolest moments had to be when I went over to a huge group of pidgins with some bread crumbs and they all swarmed me. They landed on my arms and head and anywhere they could to get at the bread. That night I met some Australian travelers who were staying at my hostel, and I spent the next two days with them! One of the really cool things about Lisbon is the whole in the wall bars and stores. We did a lot of wondering around and some of the coolest places were on a street that looked awful. If you keep walking along you can find some really neat stores and bars that are super cheap! And everything is great! On one of the days I climbed up to the Castle and wondered around with the guys for a few hours which had some amazing views!! Then we tried out some kebabs and ate some really other really good Portuguese food! I kept trying to speak in Spanish but it turns out everyone in Portugal speaks perfect English! I watched a lot of Olympics and now Im heading off to Istanbul!!! Can’t wait to see what lies in wait for me there!
