A description of mymodels

My intention is to model the Company of the Iron Roads in Southern Spain, at a time close to his lease to the Company of Railways Andaluces, around 1916.

'La Compañía de los Caminos de Hierro del Sur de España'  built and operated the railway line Linares-Almeria, and later the branch Moreda-Granada, between 1890 and 1929, when was purchased by 'La Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Andaluces'.

Scale Model

The models will be built conforming to the   P4 standard . This implies that the scale is 4mm or 1:76.2. It also involves accurately represent the track geometry, including curvature, switches, and also, of course, the gauge and wheels profile.

One can buy track and switches (P4track, C+L) compliant to the P4 standard, but they are done to the international gauge. Modelling track to the iberian gauge needs to build it from rail and sleepers. For that purpose, we use gauges for setting the correct rail gauge.

The same problem arises with the locomotives, wagons and coaches, since there is no know kit for the 'Compañía del Sur', and everything should be scratchbuild, but you can find some usefull component in the market, such as wagon wheels, for example.

I plan to describe my future progress in the following pages:
