Déranger Les Pierres

This is a song which Carla Bruni wrote in collaboration with Julien Clerc.

The longstanding collaboration of Carla Bruni and Julien Clerc

Carla Bruni talks about working with Julien Clerc in an interview with Bertrand Dicale on RFI Music in January 2007

Dicale: The songs you wrote for Julien Clerc's album last year were highly acclaimed…

Carla Bruni: I wrote those songs based on the music Julien gave me and that makes a very big difference. The music he'd written was really rich, really powerful, the songs were already very fleshed out – all they needed was to be 'dressed' and that takes a little bit longer. There were some pieces I worked on for up to two weeks before getting it right. But nothing beats that feeling of finally getting there and understanding precisely what he meant!

I want my eyes in your eyes

I want my voice in your ear

I want hands cool from the wind

I want again the hurt of love

The hurt of all this wonderment

I want to burn again so gently

Want to walk two feet from the sun.

I want to re-arrange the stones

To change the aspect of my nights

To fathom out your mystery

And time, you'll leave that to me.

I want  your laughter in my mouth

To feel your shoulders shaking.

I want be stranded quite gently

On some long-lost paradise

I want to meet again my double

I want the source of the trouble

I want to caress the stranger.

I want to re-arrange the stones

To change the aspect of my nights

To fathom out your mystery

And time, I can take care of that.

I want to die one Sunday

at the first shiver of the spring

Under the glare of satan’s sun

I want to die without a fear

Melted in a deep deep sleep

I want to die eyes open wide;

To go to heaven just like a beggar

I want to re-arrange the stones

To change the aspect of my nights

To fathom your mystery

And time, you'll leave that to me.
