Who we are...
We are a citizens action driven group of community volunteers with various origins and beliefs, from all walks of life, that are trying to make Calgary the most welcoming place for refugees.
What we do...
Imagine being forced from your home to escape the atrocities of war, living in a camp with no hope for years and then finally arriving with practically nothing in a foreign city with a strange language, a different
culture and people that you never met before, in the middle of winter...
We welcome the refugees warmly upon arrival with smiles, stuffies, chocolates and flowers. We help people start up their life with, housing, food hampers, clothing,
furniture and the necessities of life. We support the newcomers with translating and practicing English and find their way around town. We enrich their lives by offering our
friendship and helping them learn their new surroundings by taking them to the zoo, to the mountains, by reading to their kids and inviting them over to share meals. We help them find employment. In turn they enrich our lives by hosting us in their home for food and conversations about ways how they can become nation builders.
How you can help...
Join our network of over 5000 people to volunteer "What we do..." to bring hope and dignity back into their lives. We support all refugees, sponsors , faith institutions, community groups
resettlement agencies and individuals that can use our help.
