Stephen Rosen on Chinese politics. I explained sudden policy shifts on ethnic minorities (少数民族政策) from a security and political economy perspective, using perceived border threats and data on central government budgetary spending on ethnic minorities. In addition, I finished with minors in Korean and Teacher Education, in a joint-program between the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Education and am credentialed to teach Social Studies/History, Political Philosophy, Chinese language, English, and Korean language in Massachusetts and California.
During my undergraduate years, I was a researcher with the Long Term Strategy Group, founded by Professor Stephen Rosen and created two time-series data sets on Chinese perceptions of Japan and on the United States economy in the media.
I have also been a summer Compliance analyst at Goldman Sachs Asia where I wrote and compiled the compliance rules for the new Goldman Sachs China and India branches as well as new global finance rules in 2008.
Outside academia and research, I am a Political Science representative to the Graduate Students Association at UCSD and serve as the Graduate representative to the Campuswide Judicial Board and the Capital Outlay and Space Advisory Committee (COSAC).
