1389 More musical works too

The version of the Office of the Visitation penned by Adam finishes with a hymn, De Sacro Tabernaculo. Structured in a simple A,B,A,B pattern rather like Alma Pater, sadly this time we do not have the musical notation to go with it....

Hymnus

De sacro tebernaculo

Virtutum flos egreditur

In montis diverticulo

Odor Marie spargitur.

Ex caritatis germine

Elizabeth adpropriat

Et pietatis culmine

Ipsam devote visitat.

Salutat servam domina

Hec matrem Christi nominat

Confertur ingens gratia

Matrem et prolem satiat.

En, Christi incarnatio

Per nondum natum panditur

Hunc adorat cum gaudio

Qui ventre matris clauditur.

Clamat senex in iubilo

Videns Marie gloriam

Beata credens angelo

Fuisti rem veridicam.

Hic stupet rerum regula

Nature mutans ordinem

Ubi fiunt miracula

Per solum celi principem.

Presta virgo piisima

Sufficiens auxilium

Cum sis mater largissima

Nos visites in seculum
