Sometimes words just cannot express what the windows of our mind sees. Guenevere is this. She is the elegant queen for all to lay their eyes upon and gasp at her beauty. Her grace is in her details and not one is overlooked. Guenevere is made up of extravagant vintage appliques dating back as early as 1890. On one side she is adorned with a tulle backed applique with hand stitched silk threads of vintage black, metallic gold, peacock blue that is padded and raised, with dainty brass balls, breathless. Below is a vintage lace from France that speaks for itself. On the reverse she is draped with vintage jet bead appliques, and painstakenly threaded jet beaded trim flow along the scalloped edge on both sides of her along with vintage sequenced backed tulle. Vintage cut leaded crystal chandelier pendants dance along her skirt and her pet peacock Oliver lent her feathers for fanning. She has gathered herself in black silk chiffon and stole some of Oliver's vibrant blue to use for her dupioni silk fan. Guenevere Demands stature and measures 23" tall by 21" wide by 6 1/2" deep. She is fully lined with white silk crepe.
Jenavieve is part of my exotic collection and is completely GORGEOUS. She is made from a wonderful antique sari with metallic threading, silk embroidery, iridescent sequence dyed from a deep burgundy magenta to a dark amethyst plum. The satin chartreuse trim has grape coloured seed beads that are knotted together at the ends creating balls. The other trims are vintage and are ither dyed a dark magenta or dark plum to match panels. The fringe is dyed from a plumish magenta then bleeds to vibrant chartreuse. There are four different Mucha cotton transfer plates in each window. The lining on the top section is magenta with white backing, the large side panels are lined with dark amethyst and white backing. The lining is made up of pure silk.. I cannot express enough of how much MORE stunning this is in person whether lit up or not! You will not be disappointed! Measurements are 10" wide by 16" tall including fringe. This looks great on a tall candelabra style base.
