We are the Westover Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol (CAP), the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. We take pride in our squadron and in our accomplishments across the spectrum of the three CAP missions of Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education. We continue to excel and substantially contribute to the capability of the Civil Air Patrol because our members are dedicated, professional, and enjoy what they do! 

We are headquartered at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee MA. Our normal operating hours are Tuesday evenings, 1800- 2100 hours local (6:00pm- 9:00pm).

Who We Are:
    • CAP is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force a nonprofit organization with 60,000 members nationwide, operating a fleet of 550 aircraft.
    • CAP performs about 85 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 70 lives annually. 
    • CAP's unpaid professionals perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. 
    • CAP members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to more than 25,000 young people currently participating in the CAP cadet programs.
    • CAP has earned the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of the heroic efforts of its World War II veterans. CAP also participates in Wreaths Across America, an initiative to remember, honor and teach about the sacrifices of the U.S. military.
