Hi there! My name is Kurt Fredrickson, and I'm currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Nørskov group at Stanford University and the Vojvodic group at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We are studying the design of catalysts for energy applications using density functional theory. I received my PhD in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015, supervised by Dr. Alex Demkov, and received my BS in Physics from the University of California, Davis in 2009, supervised by Dr. Warren Pickett.

My research interests include ferroelectrics (vacancies, metal-oxide interfaces, semiconductor-oxide interfaces and island growth), ferromagnets (vacancies, interface effects, thickness effects), two-dimensional materials, carbides, and two-dimensional electron gases.
