Greyneys campsite
This is a very small semi alpine DOC campsite alongside the main highway and the train track. It can get very cold at night.
Greyneys Shelter Diptych

10 tent sites available. Approx 650m above sea level.

The site provides access to the Mingha-Deception track, which is used in the annual Coast-to-Coaster race. It is 5hrs one-way to Goat Pass. Do not attempt this track if the Bealey River is too high to cross. This is not a groomed tramp.

There is also a tiny 20min return, historic loop track right next to the campsite.

Sandflies abound.

This site is probably better suited for campervans than tenting.

Check the DOC webpage for any warnings, which may be displayed at the top of the page.
