About Cannondale
One of the leading bicycle, component, and apparel makers in the world, Cannondale has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a crowded loft above a pickle factory in 1971. The company created the cycling industry's first bike trailer, the Bugger, and shortly thereafter introduced a line of apparel and accessories, earning a reputation for innovation and quality along the way.
Cannondale introduced its first bicycle, a Touring model, in 1983, innovating the use of hand-built, oversized aluminum frames that were lighter and more flex-resistant than the steel models that were the industry norm at the time. Road racing and mountain bike models followed in 1984, and the company continued to grow. In 1997, Cannondale was the first company to feature large, oversized aluminum bike frames on cycling's biggest stage, the Tour de France, and the company has continued to lead the way in technological innovations and competitive victories over the years, including:

Releasing the first carbon/aluminum frame, the Six13
Winning five Giro d'Italia Maglia Rosas, and the Vuelta a Espana
Launching the Delta V E.S.T., the industry's first dual suspension mountain bike
Creating the radically unique Super V and Scalpel platforms
Introducing technologies like HeadShok, Lefty, and optimized aluminum and carbon designs

One of my Cannondales from the early 90's. I'm not even going to tell you how it got stolen, it's too embarrassing.. I remember alot about this bike. Zeus Crankset with drilled out rings, a red frame yellow American Classic hubs built 16-spokes on aero rims, and yellow cable housing, a terrible but light Huret rear derailleur, Dia-Compe canti brakes, Ofmega pedals, and a yellow Turbo saddle. This was almost 20 yrs ago.
