Plum sorbet

6 ripe plums

quartered and pits removed

1 cup water

3/4 cup of sugar (or splenda)

1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon of vodka


Combine all the ingredients (except vodka) in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until plums are soft, about 8-10 minutes. Stir until dissolved

Pour plum mixture in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth

Let chill, add vodka and stir to combine.
 Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze to the manufacturers instructions.

Or freeze the mixture into a shallow pan, cover with plastic wrap .

After 2 hours there should be a ring of frozen sorbet begining to form around the edges of the pan.
Stir the frozen portion and return to the freezer again for 1 hour more.

Repeat one time more.
