Welcome to Crewe & Nantwich
Metal Detecting Society
The Crewe & Nantwich Metal Detecting Society was formed in 1982.
The Society exists to promote and carry out the fascinating hobby of metal detecting. From its humble beginnings it has grown to be one of the foremost metal detecting clubs in the Cheshire area.

The Society meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Crown Hotel in Nantwich, meetings start at 7.30pm.

Through out the year we try to arrange a good mix of guest speakers relating to the hobby. After the speakers we conduct Society business, have a break then hold a raffle and then the ‘Find of the Month’ competition, where members bring along their finds to display and vote upon.

We have also in attendance from time to time the County Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) who attends to record members finds for the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS).

Like other metal detecting clubs we carry out the practical side of the hobby by arranging rallies to search on farmland for which we have previously gained permission. These take place on Sundays throughout the year. The digs are restricted to members and invited guests only.

The Society also arranges and attends charity rally events.
