Welcome!

Hi! I'm Bree Candland.

I thought I'd share a few things about me:

Nelson Mandela is my hero. He was imprisoned in South Africa for 27 years for speaking out against apartheid.  When apartheid finally ended, he became the first democratically elected president of South Africa. That happened on my 14th birthday.  I studied abroad in Namibia and South Africa.

I love furry animals. A lot. Those are my cats, Boris and Yeltsin. Over there is Violet the baby lamb. She lives at Apple Creek Farm in Bowdoinham, which is owned by one of my dearest friends, Mrs. Galle.

I see A LOT of live music. This is David Gray.

I travel a fair amount. Here are some pictures from my trips abroad. The top photo is from a sailing trip I took in the San Blas Islands, which are in the Caribbean off of the coast of Panama.  The next photo is of the Parthenon, a temple for the goddess Athena on the acropolis in Athens, Greece.  The next picture is of a Highland cow in Scotland.  Finally, a group of students and I travelled to Costa Rica in 2008, and the last photo is from a visit we made to an elementary school.
