A few points of interest related to Scout Camp Otter Lake QC.

  1. NO Price increase for Scout Camp Otter Lake QC.

  2. Reservations: Remember to use the 2018-2019 Reservation form when making your reservation! It is available at https://www.cognitoforms.com/ScoutsCanadaCampOtterLakeQC/_20182019CampOtterLakeQC 

  3. Site and Cabin Availability: The availability of the camps numerous camp sites and its cabin is available on its Google Calendar at (https://calendar.google.com/calendar?cid=Y2FtcG90dGVybGFrZUBnbWFpbC5jb20  )

  4. Camp Fall Service Day coming up... stay tuned for announcement and activities.

  5. Canoes: The camp now has 10 canoes available for use/rental at a minimal charge. Canoe, Paddles, and Marine Safety Kit included. You must supply your own life jacket/PFD. Also, there are several lakes that Lac Hughes interconnects with, either by a stream, a marsh area, a creek, or by a short portage. Please note that there is currently not remote camp sites available on other lakes – YET - The camp committee is working to have some remote camp sites on other lakes, but nothing has been formalized yet… but it will be coming.

  6. Indigenous Drum Ceremonies: If you would be interested in having an Indigenous Drum Ceremony done at you camp please contact the Camp Warden (Desiree Tremblay). It is a fun and informative activity. There is a minor fee. Also note that following traditions it must be done before the sun sets.

  8. Chief Scout and Queen's Venturer Award Capstone Projects - If your youth are looking for a project to complete their top award, well Scout Camp Otter Lake QC has a number of possible projects the youth could take ownership/lead on. Or if they have an idea of their own that could be beneficial for the camp, well the camp committee is very open minded and welcoming.   9. A special thank you to the following groups who did their Capstone Projects at the camp as part of their Chief Scout/Venturer Award requirements:
    1. 1st Aylmer for doing the "Hill Side Tire Climb"
    2. 1st Greely for doing the "Geocache Course"
