Bill Giacalone began teaching over 20 years ago, working with pre-school and elementary age children. He has taught at several universities, most recently at the University of California at Berkeley in the are of motor development and physical education. He is a consultant for school districts within Contra Costa County regarding physical education and program quality review in elementary schools.
Bill is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University in Health and Physical Education and holds several California teaching credentials that enable him to instruct general and special education children. He has a Masters and Doctoral Degree in education from Purdue and Temple Universities. He also holds Master Degrees in Business Administration and Leadership from the University of California at Berkeley. Bill has published numerous articles about child development and motor skill development in children.
For the past 18 years, Bill has coached children in the Lamorinda area of the San Francisco East Bay. He has been a mentor coach, state coaching instructor, and Olympic development coach. His youth teams have consistently been in the top ten in the state. Your child may have been involved with the Lamorinda Indoor Soccer League that Bill founded and directed for the last 6 years, or one of the many sports camps and soccer clinics Bill has directed in this community over the last 18 years. Bill is the director of the youth soccer camps at Cal, and he is a consultant with other colleges regarding youth soccer activities. He enjoys teaching children new skills in an engaging, interactive, and fun environment.
Bill lives in Orinda, CA with his wife, Catherine, and their children James and Devin, and the family bulldog, Norm.
