Tips for a Stress Free Camp Experience

  • Look at the camp brochure and website together with your child. This will help build the excitement. The more your child knows about camp the more comfortable they will feel.
  • If your child is shy try to arrange for a friend to go to camp at the same time.
  • Begin packing EARLY. This will help to avoid forgetting anything. Allow your child to help pack and let them sneak in a favorite toy like a stuffed animal or even a favorite T-shirt.
  • Include some pre-stamped fun postcards and some envelopes with stationary.
  • Send a letter before camp begins so they will have a letter on that important first day.
  • A camp favorite is a camp survival care package. Don't include food, but do include autograph items, books (for rainy days), and fun bunkmate gifts.
  • Remind them to have fun and write home!

What to Pack
We have some great suggestions for what to pack for camp on the Getting Ready For Camp – Campers page. Remember, even though camp is held in August some mornings and evenings can get quite chilly. Don’t forget to pack long pants, a jacket and sweatshirts.

There is a trading post at camp that sells candy, drinks, ice cream, and other little things. Campers may bring spending money for the trading post but we recommend not to bring more than $25.00.

Campers love to get mail!
It is best to either send just before they leave for camp or early in the camp week. Please be sure to include the site name. The site name will be provided by the camper’s leader who will contact you about one week before the start of camp.
