Groups and Activities 2017

U3A Campbelltown Inc. WALKING GROUP  2nd & 4th Friday each month during Term Time, as listed below: 

Term 1 2017:  Friday 10

Term 1 2017 
 
Friday 10th February – Catch bus to City (Zone C) and alight at the RAH (Stop R2) and walk through Botanic Gardens and Botanic Park to River Torrens and walk to Klemzig (via St Peters Billabong) where we catch the bus back to Paradise. (6.3 km) 
 
Friday 24th February – Catch bus to City (Zone C) and take train to Ethelton Railway Station - walk past the new apartments alongside the river and past the old slipway area to Nelson Street bridge to cross Port River. Walk along the river frontage to the City of Adelaide clipper and return along docks by TAFE (stop for coffee at Folklore Café by Harts Mill) and cross Hart Street bridge to Ethelton Railway Station for return journey. (5.0 km)
 
Friday 10th March – Catch bus to City (Zone C) and take tram to Entertainment Centre for a walk along the River Torrens via Bonython Park, Elder Park and Botanic Park and Botanic Gardens to North Terrace (Stop I2) where we catch the bus back to Paradise.  (4.9km)
 
Friday 24th March –  Catch bus (Zone D) to Tea Tree Plaza Interchange then walk back to Paradise Interchange. (6.3 km) (Led by Bob Smith)  
  • Walks commence at 9.30am sharp, so unless otherwise stated, please meet at Paradise Interchange by the Information Board (in direction of travel) a few minutes before take-off time.  
  • Parking is available at the overflow park off Crowle Road by the Influencers Church. (Stop 25A) or off the roadway between the fire-station and child-care centre. 
  • On walks we will stop for a rest but please ensure you bring water with you. Walking shoes are also essential. Be Sun-Smart and remember Slip, Slop, Slap! 
  • Please remember to carry your Seniors Card with you for use on Public Transport and your U3A Badge in case of emergency. 
  • Published walks may change due to weather conditions. If the weather forecast is for a temperature of 35 degrees or over the walk will be cancelled. If the weather is inclement we can decide at Paradise. Distances are approximate.
