Gang Li, Doug Campbell and collaborators have a new publication

We used the anti-FtsH antibody and a quantitation standard developed by Zakir Hossain to compare clearance rates for PsbA and PsbD, with the content of FtsH protease in a diatom.  The paper includes the first (we think) estimates for in vivo turnover rates of the FtsH protease.

Campbell DA,  Hossain Z, Cockshutt AM,  Zhaxybayeva O, Wu H & Li G (2013) Photosystem II protein clearance and FtsH function in the diatom Thalassiosira pseudonana.  Photosynthesis Research accepted 1 March 2013, 10.1007/s11120-013-9809-2

Our colleague Gang Li is returning to the Key Laboratory of Marine Bio-resources Sustainable Utilization, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou. Gang will be using new funding from the National Science Foundation of China to work on UV effects on phytoplankton. We look forward to future collaborations with Gang and his team.
