Norwich - Sainsbury Centre, University of East Anglia
St Anne's Society invitation

"Members of the Cambridge Local Girton Association are warmly invited to join the Cambridge Branch of the St Anne’s Society on our spring outing to Norwich on 27th April. We will visit the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia. This world class art museum has an outstanding permanent collection and an exciting programme of exhibitions. After a radical relaunch in 2023, this year the Sainsbury Centre is investigating how we can know what is true in the world around us in a series of exhibitions on the theme of “What is Truth?” To find out more go to https://www.sainsburycentre.ac.uk/

Itinerary:

I will travel on the 9:25 train from Cambridge Central Station which arrives in Norwich at 10:43. You are very welcome to join me, or, alternatively, you may prefer to make your own way to Norwich. The bus from Norwich station to University Drive takes about 25 minutes and there is then a three-minute walk to the Sainsbury Centre.

We will meet for coffee at 11:30 in the Sainsbury Centre’s café, “The Terrace”. After coffee, we can explore the fabulous art collection, together with what promises to be a thought-provoking series of exhibitions. Lunch will be at 1:30 pm in the museum’s “Modern Life Café”. After lunch there will be free time to look round the Sculpture Park, or to return to the city centre to visit Norwich Cathedral.

Trains to Cambridge leave Norwich station roughly every 30 minutes. I plan to travel on the 16:27 train which arrives in Cambridge at 17:44.

All welcome"
. Those wishing to join the outing should send an email by 12 April to the St Anne's organiser (email address is in the email sent to CLGA mebers on or about 3 April).

Jane Martin Poetry Prize  #   ##

Now in its 14th year, this national prize for early-career poets is a key part of the College’s support for poetry and will interest all those who love literature. The evening will include poetry readings from the winners and the judges.
