Coaching Staff

We have several highly skilled and dedicated coaches on our staff:

CCG Class Instructors:

Abbie Green - Head Instructor & Executive Director
Growing up in Kingston, NY, Abbie started doing gymnastics at the age of two, and competed with her high school team on JV in 7th & 8th grade and Varsity in 9th - 12th grades.  She then went to The Ohio State University, and trained with their NCAA Varsity Gymnastics Team during her freshman year - however, decided to quit gymnastics at 19 in order to focus on her studies.  After earning a BS in Engineering Physics, she moved to the Boston area in 2001 to work for MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and found an adult gymnastics class at a private gym so that she could start working-out again.  She began coaching part-time shortly thereafter, and gained experience working with all ages and levels, from 2 - 18 years old, including children's after school classes, USAG Levels 5-7, PREP-Op, and high school gymnastics.

Abbie changed careers in 2005, and went back to graduate school to earn a Masters degree in Public Health at Boston University, where she also had the opportunity to compete again with the BU Gymnastics Club.  She then started coaching the Cambridge Rindge & School (CRLS) Varsity Gymnastics Team in 2008, and has been the Head Coach since 2012.  When Abbie taught some adult beginner gymnastics classes in 2009, she realized she'd found her niche, and founded Cambridge Community Gymnastics (CCG) in 2011, an AAU non-profit, community adult gymnastics program. They offer several classes and open gyms for all levels, as well as a Special Olympics Gymnastics Class, and an adult competitive Rec Team - of which she is an active member! - in the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC) league.  Abbie has also been serving on the Board of Directors for the NAIGC since 2012.  In her spare time, Abbie's activities include circus and partner acro, parkour, and obstacle course racing, and professionally is interested in coordinating community health promotion programs.

Jerri McMannis - Mixed Class Instructor
Jerri started gymnastics at the age of three in the local park district after her parents decided jumping and rolling around on the furniture was a bit unsafe.  She continued practicing at a local gymnastics club advancing to Level 8 optional in the USA Gymnastics system.  After concentrating on dance for a few years, she returned to the high school gymnastic program and competed on the varsity squad all four years, reaching the Regional and Sectional state competitions multiple times in her tenure.  She continued gymnastics at Boston University, competing on the club team (with Abbie). In addition to her gymnastic practice inside the gym, Jerri has a dance background and coached all levels of gymnastics, ages two through adult, for 10 years.  When not in the gym, Jerri works for a local beer company monitoring the brewing, packaging and shipping schedules, as well as inventory management.  Her new adventures include skiing and yoga... with an occasional gymnastic "fun workout."
